Has anyone noticed that the second chapter of "Norwegian Wood" (by Haruki Murakami) resemble one of his short stories in "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman" which is Firefly.
----
Reasons that made me not so interested in reading Norwegian Wood.
1. the second chapter was copied from his another short story book, its not that good for a writer to do that, i was really disappointed at him. it is not that creative but he said it himself that it is his "normal work" and he was surprised when it got popular.
2. it said on the cover that it is one of the most erotic murakami's novel's - thats why am not reading it.
3. also i think Norwegian Wood is not murakami finest work, i was really disappointed but i believe that reading 1Q84 will make up for all of that.
am in love with Murakami's short stories, i love to read them out loud.
i bought 4 of his books so far:
Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman (obviously)
1Q84 (the complete trilogy - one whole book) -did not start reading YET-
Norwegian Wood (will not read- the reason is at the end)
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (bought it a month ago)

how did i discover Murakami.
well i met this amazing friend and she insists in me buying "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman"
and i was like okay. so i didn't read it like NOW, its just happened that after i bought it (3 or i dont know weeks) i took the book and started reading it, i spent 3hours to be adjusted to his writing. i was captivated by his way of writing. that at some point i wanted to re-read it all over again.
